It's sad to say but the year is almost drawing to a close. Sadly, The French Fries will not thrive like it once did in the Golden Year of 2008. However the spirit will live on inside each member, and we will all know that we have been part of something special and unique. Never before has a group such as this been established in the Senior French Classes at St Catherine's College, with a disperasl of students form St Patrick's College. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.
To give justice to the French Fries, there is only one way in which we can end the year. Partying!!!!!
Till then
Au revoir.
Admittedly I haven't blogged in such a long time, not that anyone actually reads my blogs but that's fine because I'm not really into the whole thing. I just like reading other people's blogs.
The year is sadly flying by quickly and we will soon be off to different parts of the country (or staying in the same place) in order to study, go into trades, get a part time job, and much more. I think we all should do something though together before we go.
- St Pat's and St Cath's should have a combined shared lunch for the year 13s, like the one planned for the Combined Concert which never happened. I suppose I could try and organise it for the end of term or start of next term?
- I would like to do something with the French class and maybe people who were involved with the French Fries. Does going to a French film or having dinner at a French restaurant sound good to anyone?
Of course there will be 18th birthday parties and so on so there will be plenty more time for partying!
Vox is losing its appeal. Sorry but it's coz all the people whose blogs I read are not blogging. Which is fair enough with the busy times atm.
I'm feeling like I'm not doing well enough this year despite the fact I am trying really hard.
But some people who do well are arrogant about it and don't seem to understand that they're being pretentious.
Oh well whatever if I fail I'll just become a male burlesque stripper. It would be quite fun tbh.
My goodness how time has flown!
O'Shea Shield is next week and I'm stressing because I'm in the Religious Questions team and I want to do well but how you go on the day is what ocunts.Wish me luck!
To all the current French Fries.
I think we should all be starting to leanr the level 3 vocabulary as Mrs MacIver has been giving big hints.
Perhaps next term we can all help each other if anyone is struggling with remembereing some words.Till next time, au revoir.
I'm really quite anxious about how 2009 is going to turn out and all the things I'm going to have to balance.
- This year I'm going to teach 4 pupils to play the piano. I'm a newbe to this so who knows how it will turn out. Also I'm teaching them according to a curriculum known as the Suzuki method which my previous teacher has briefly gone over with me. Obn top of that I have to organise a 'group session' that involves playing games and doing tasks with the kids that are all music related.
- Ncea level 3 is going to be a bitch to do well at. I'll have to be such a geek and have like no life in order to do well. It doesn't help that during the school year there are so many interruptions so I will have to do all this catching up and being a peer leader will take up quite a bit of time too.
- Well I'm still going to play Bowls and tennis but I'm thinking about taking up a winter sport, I'm worried that I'll be-shamefully bad at it though.
And I'm sure there will be more to add to the list!

Well I think it's time I review how my level 2 exams went this year.
English: Firstly I didn't have enough time to write 3 essays and do unfamiliar text. So I started with Unfamiliar because I felt I could waffle on about rubbish (which markers seem to like). Then I did an essay on short stories and film which were probably quite bsic but it's so difficult thinking about your essay when you're racing against the clock.
History: The historical resources was about coffee which was an alright topic but it turns out I got the first question wrong (by asking around) as it was a trick question. Silly me. The questions for the essay were annoying because they were a little too specific and you can only do the one question given to you in History (unlike in English). I wrote so much that my hand was covered in blue pen!
Geography: This wa ssuch a yucky exam. Firstly the skills paper wa son 'Farming in the Otago downlands.' No offence, actually I do mean offence, who the fuk cares about farming in stupid Otago? It was so boring, why couldn't they have chosen a city like New Orleans or something? I put most of my effort into natural landscapes (Tongariro Volcanic Centre and Amazon Basin) and I sort of skimmed over urban settlements. J'ai ettoné (I was astonished/surprised) at how much more I had to answer than in the mock exams! It seems to be that I do better in mocks than in actual exams. grr
French: The listening was annoying too because I understood everything Mrs MacIver was saying excpet the information that I needed to know to answer the questions. Lol at NCEA trying to be contemporary by adding in 'bebo blues'- last year it was 'www.moimoimoi.fr' Anyways I understood Reading but I don't know if I answered correctly and the writing topics were very strange and some people struggled as we hadn't really written in those contexts before.
Music: Aural was okay excpet the melodic dictation which is always difficult and no one needs it. The theory paper was quite a lot of fun I thought! I laughed at how we had to answer questions on 'Poi E' but that was cool :)
I have to say I was unfortuante because 4 of my exams right after one another. e.g history-tuesday, geography and french-wednesday and music-thursday. When I wa swalking up to St Cath's after Geography, I stupidly forgot to zip up my bag properly. When I was crossing the road with Christina and Rex all my books and papers fell out onto the road. It just so hapopened that a bus was coming down the street (we were next to a bus stop) and I screamed 'AHH A BUS!!!' And had to snatch up all my things coz I was scared that the bus would run over my books/papers. Thankfully Rex and Chrissie helped me :)
I recently had a dream that I failed a few papers and got an E for short stories which is probably very incorrect. Oh well, I suppose I can redeem myself next year, possibly...
I like to listen Michael Jackson songs.I too love 'Stranger in Moscow' and 'You Are Not Alone.' read more
